These look pretty nice. I’m hoping they do well at retail and will help to solidify that there is still a market for the 6 inch scale.

Last year, fans far and wide went bananas for the Nick Fury Marvel Universe action figure offered exclusively to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited subscribers. And now, for 2010, we want YOU to help decide which figure new subscribers will receive.
Your choices are Archangel in his current X-Force costume, Norman Osborn in his H.A.M.M.E.R. outfit and Ms. Marvel–the MM from Dark Avengers, aka Karla Sofen, aka Moonstone!

In the last two Q & A sessions with Diamond Select Toys / Art Asylum here and here, we have learned that all seven-inch Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate figures are going on hiatus for all of 2010. The upcoming Battlestar Galactica Boomer and Athena two-pack will still be released, but after that it will depend on further retailer support. This saddens me greatly, as I am an avid collector of all three of these lines. It makes me even more sad knowing that I am still missing key characters in all these lines. After spending a great deal of money to collect all the various Star Trek figures, I will likely never have Voyager represented in this scale and format now. The beautiful Seven of Nine, or any of the Borg figures will never fill my shelves. From The Original Series; I shall not be getting a Nurse Chapel, Yeoman Rand, or the Salt Vampire. From Battlestar Galactica; I will be missing William Adama, Gaius Baltar, President Laura Roslin, and Admiral Helena Cain in my collection. From Stargate SG-1; I cannot have my Ba’al, General George Hammond, Black Ops Samantha Carter, General Jack O’Neill in Air Force Uniform (OK, I could have done without that one.) or the Horus Guard in my collection. Sad, sad days for collectors…
If you collect these figures too, here’s what you can do that might help. Take a minute to write Diamond Select Toys, let them know how much you would really like these lines to continue. You can e-mail them at: customerservice@diamondselecttoys.com. Go to your Local Comic Shops and ask for figures from these lines. Ask them if you can pre-order Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate figures from them. They will likely say no, but it will at least show them there is still interest. I call out to all of you to help save these lines!
Diamond Select Toys / Art Asylum released pictures of the upcoming Iron Man 2 Movie versions of the Marvel Select Iron Man Mark 6, the Borders Exclusive Mark 4 Armor, and War Machine. I am not sure about the War Machine. If you notice it also has an exclusive to Borders sticker as well.
I am sure that everyone was following all the news coming from this years Toy Fair in New York City last weekend. I certainly was! Rather than trying to list everything, I thought I would just summarize some of the highlights which I found interesting about some of the lines that I collect and hopefully you will as well. There are lots of great things to look forward to coming this year.
I picked up the new Marvel Universe Secret Wars Comic Packs Wave Three last night and there were some high notes and some low notes with this wave. First let’s tackle Mr. Fantastic and Ultron Comic Pack which includes Issue #6 of Secret Wars.
Diamond Select Toys / Art Asylum released the final production in-package images of the upcoming Marvel Select Spider-Man figure today. The figure was sculpted by Digger and comes with a Smashed Car Base. This should be in Local Comic Shops very soon.

I am so happy that it wasn’t Norman Osborn in his H.A.M.M.E.R. uniform! I missed out on the exclusive Nick Fury last year and I really wanted Norman to be a regular carded release. I have a feeling that many of us voted for the other two choices just for that reason, I know I did! So, will you be buying another subscription this year to get the Archangel figure? I believe it’s a pass for me again. I just don’t think I would get much use out of the subscription and it’s hard for me to justify that kind of money just for the figure.
