Some news from SDCC about Hasbro’s plans for the 2012 re-launch of Marvel Legends has surfaced this morning ahead of the show. Hasbro will have Wave One on display in a case at the beginning of the show and will later add the second wave to that case after their panel on Saturday. Wave One will include: Klaw (classic look), Hope Summers, Constrictor, Steve Rogers (Super Soldier), Iron Man (in a classic armor), Ghost Rider (new movie version), Thor (Comic Con version) and the Build-a-Figure Terrax. I can’t wait to see these this weekend or to hear about who Wave Two will feature. So, what do you think? Is this a good start? There are definitely some characters in this wave that the fans have been asking for. Do you think they will listen to us this time?
Very excited about new Marvel Legends! I'm so glad Hasbro can string the fans along for months just to overcharge us for disappointing characters. Klaw and Constrictor are awesome picks! Terrax is a solid BAF. Thor, Iron Man, and Steve Rogers are obvious main characters that Hasbro feels that they always have to put out. However, Hope Summers and movie version Ghost Rider are very questionable picks. Has there really been a demand for these two characters? There are so many classic villains that are still left to be done! Just make larger versions of the characters from the Marvel Universe line! It's unbelievable how Hasbro wastes plastic by putting out characters we've seen a ton of times or ones that make little to no sense! Of course because they're BAF, collectors will buy them all anyway just to build Terrax. Still, excited to see what's coming for wave 2, Rocket Raccoon?
Hi The Werewolf! I'm not up on recent comics, so I hate to admit it but, I don't even know who Hope Summers is. Yeah, I was a little disappointed in the Iron Man, Thor, and Cap choices too. One A-lister, sure I can understand that, but three to start though… Are we doomed to endless variations of A-listers again? I guess we should be thankful it wasn't another Wolverine, at least. Wait though, there will be one in the second wave. 😉
